- TRANSFOR(U)M Socio-ecological Cooperation Network on Regional Transition Processes in Europe. TRANSFOR(U)M represents a central forum on regional transition and transformation processes. The network aims to connect European research institutions examining problems and challenges related to simultaneous growth and shrinking processes. - SUREURONET - IRM was a coordinator in - SUREURONET Project under the Fifth Framework Programme of the EU - 2003 (as part of the SUREURO Programme), concerning the sustainable development of housing in Central Europe;

- LGAP (Local Government Assistant Program) - IRM was a partner in a Local Government Assistance Programme, funded in 1993-2000 by British Know-How Fund, in Local Government Partnership Program funded by USAID and in Phare Fund projects concerning:
- national training programme “land Management in Municipalities”
- pilot projects on spatial planning, land management, urban renewal, regional strategic planning, regional spatial development
